Great Recipe – Brownies with nuts

Brownies for the coffee break, why not? The pastry shop is closed, therefore cakes have to be made in the own bakery. Something sweet with your coffee is exactly what you need, right? Sunday is the coffee and cake day in our family, although we can enjoy that nowadays only in a small round. Brownies are prepared super fast. I like to add nuts and dried fruits to enrich the taste. Chocolate makes you happy, says the Chef’s Handyman team and each member grabs a piece of happiness.

Brownies – easy to make

For the brownies, melt the butter and the chocolate in a pan on low heat.

Whisk the eggs. Add sugar, salt, vanilla and a few pinches of cardamom. Cream everything. Add the melted chocolate. Coarsely crush the nuts and add them with the flour. Mix everything together.

Rub a baking tray of about 20 x 28 cm with butter. Add the mixture.

Bake them in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 20 minutes. Take them out and let cool down. After about 5 minutes cut the mixture into about 9-12 pieces. Leave it in the form.

When the brownies have cooled down, garnish with chocolate icing (melt in a water bath) and the dried fruits.

Ingredients for the brownies

  • 250 g chocolate (dark)
  • 2 eggs
  • 70 g butter
  • 110 g sugar
  • 90 g flour
  • 100 g Brazil nuts (or others of your choice), coarsely crushed
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch of cardamom
  • 60 g dried berries
  • 100 g chocolate icing
