Chef's Handyman backed apples

Chef’s Handyman roasted apples

The smell of roasted apples is in the air and fall is on its way. That’s the season of cinnamon, cloves and gingerbread spices, right? They go well with game specialities or as a sweet dessert. I like them baked in the oven filled with nuts and served with sour cream, ice cream or cream with a hint of cinnamon. What about you, do you like it as well?

Cut away the upper part of the apples and remove the lower part. Hollow out the apples. Coarsely chop the nuts. Sprinkle with agave syrup and add coconut cream. Alternatively, a caramel bread spread can also be used. Mix everything well and fill generously into the apples. Close with the apple lid. Place them in an ovenproof dish. Add 1-2 dl of apple juice. Bake them in the oven at 200°C for about 55 minutes.

Serve lukewarm with sour cream, ice cream or cinnamon cream.

Shopping list for 4 people, 6 small apples, 1 cup of nuts, 1 cup apple juice, 4 tablespoons agave syrup, 4-5 tablespoons coconut cream spread, alternatively caramel spread, 1 cup vanilla ice cream for 4 people.

This delicious autumn dessert smells wonderful and is quickly prepared. The Chef’s Handyman team wishes you bon appetite and enjoy the roasted apples.
